· Human must: (1) Open the IBRO Grants Calendar at https://ibro.org/grants-calendar/ and identify which specific sub-programme(s) are currently open for applications and match the applicant's profile. (2) Read the eligibility page for each candidate programme carefully — particularly whether independent/non-affiliated researchers are accepted or whether a host institution letter is mandatory. (3) Determine whether the 'Neuroscience Capacity Accelerator for Mental Health' (LMIC-focused, most likely fit) or 'Collaborative Research Grants' are open and if an independent applicant can satisfy their host-lab requirement by leveraging existing collaborators (Berridge/Michigan, Gershman/Harvard, Daw/Princeton, Mattar/NYU).
