Programme Thesis
Y Combinator Fall 2026 funds early-stage startups globally with $500,000 in seed capital, intensive mentorship, and access to a powerful network, aiming to accelerate high-growth technology companies that can scale rapidly and disrupt industries.
Selection Criteria
- Strong founding team with domain expertise and execution ability
- Clear, scalable business model with large market potential
- Demonstrated traction (users, revenue, or validated prototype)
- Founder-market fit and deep problem understanding
- Ability to articulate a compelling vision and pitch
- Willingness to relocate to San Francisco for the 3-month batch
- Solo founders accepted but teams preferred; co-founder gaps may be a disadvantage
Past Winners / Cohort Profiles
YC has funded thousands of startups across sectors, including Stripe, Airbnb, Dropbox, Coinbase, and DoorDash. Typical profiles include technical founders with a working prototype, early traction, and a clear path to revenue. Recent cohorts include AI/biotech startups like Insitro, Recursion Pharmaceuticals, and many digital health platforms. Solo founders are less common but not excluded.
Ideal Candidate Fingerprint
A technical co-founder team with a working MVP, early user traction or revenue, deep domain expertise in a high-growth market (e.g., AI, biotech, fintech), and a clear, scalable business model. The team should demonstrate relentless execution, coachability, and a compelling narrative for why their startup will become a category-defining company.
Recommended Framing
Position the CCT model as the core IP for a digital health startup called 'NeuroCCT' — an AI-driven platform that predicts and prevents addiction relapse by integrating computational pharmacology with wearable/behavioral data. Eniola's unique blend of pharmacology, machine learning, and software engineering, plus endorsements from top neuroscientists, makes him a credible solo founder with a defensible scientific moat. Emphasize the validated computational framework, the massive global addiction market (especially in Africa), and the potential to license to pharma or partner with digital therapeutics companies.
Watch Out
Solo founder status is a disadvantage; YC strongly prefers teams. No clear business model or revenue traction yet; the research is pre-commercial. Relocation to San Francisco for 3 months may be challenging given current enrollment in M.Sc. in Germany. The application requires a pitch deck and video; Eniola must translate academic work into a compelling startup narrative.
