Eniola must take four prerequisite steps before any application is possible: (1) Browse NIH's RePORTER and Grants.gov to identify a specific FOA suited to the CCT model — strong candidates include NIDA R21 exploratory grants (computational addiction neuroscience), Fogarty International Center awards (global health / LMICs), or SBIR Phase I via ZYCO if it qualifies as a small business; (2) Determine whether ZYCO can be registered as an eligible foreign applicant institution in SAM.gov and eRA Commons — this requires a DUNS/UEI number, legal entity status, and institutional sign-off authority; (3) If ZYCO cannot serve as the prime institution, approach one of her US collaborators (Berridge / Michigan, Gershman / Harvard, Daw / Princeton, or Mattar / NYU) about serving as the prime PI with Eniola as a co-investigator or key personnel on a foreign sub-award component; (4) Only after a specific FOA and institutional sponsor are confirmed should application materials be assembled.
